How I use SOL Connect…

The people who use SOL Connect all use the team in different ways. Some people who use the team love technology and love looking at how different forms of technology can enhance their independence. On the other hand there are some people who still want to be independent but don’t want to focus on things such as the SOL Connect hubs.

One person that typifies this is Ian. He has been using SOL Connect for the past year yet doesn’t have a hub or medication dispenser or any other cutting edge equipment that SOL Connect can provide. He uses SOL Connect in a way that suits him.

The Connect team call Ian a couple of times a day, when his SOL team aren’t in his home, to make sure that he’s safe, in the form of a welfare call, and just to have a friendly voice at the other end of the phone to talk to about his day.

Ian said “My support team are brilliant but when they’re not in my home then I use the marvellous SOL Connect. They call me at certain points during the day to have a bit of a chat and to make sure that I am okay. They remind me to do things such as making sure that my kitchen appliances have been turned off.

Once they couldn’t get in touch with me and before I knew it I had a member of the SOL Connect team at my door just to make sure that I was okay. They not only offer a great service but they are also really nice people.”
