Everyone at SOL

To ‘Look at the world from different perspectives’, is one of our key values at SOL, and today the perspective for most of us has changed dramatically.

Having to adapt not only to a new way of working , but also, for a short time, a new way of living.

We appreciate this is a time of worry and anxiety for everyone at SOL, your families and those we support, however I continue to be amazed that throughout these unprecedented times we continue to deliver our service to support some of the most vulnerable in our society.

Words cannot convey my pride and admiration for everything that you continue to deliver on behalf of our organisation. Our sector has started to be recognised for the vital work we deliver and we believe that we are now on a journey to achieve the parity with wider healthcare that we rightly deserve.

As a board we continue to work closely with our Leadership team to ensure we deliver our duty of care to you as colleagues as well as to those we support, while protecting the long term future of our organisation.

As the landscape changes and when we are required to make difficult decisions about our services, or the way we work, please be reassured that they will be guided by our values.

In the short term please ensure that you continue social distancing and that hygiene standards are maintained so you can perform your role in the safest way possible, and if you have any concerns please raise them with you manager at the earliest opportunity. Also please ensure you have your staff badge with you at all times, as this will allow you to travel while working.

And when things return to normal, or we find a new normal, the contribution of those across the organisation will not be forgotten.

It is more important than ever to continue to find ‘Joy in the ordinary’.
