Following on from yesterday’s announcement from the First Minister, we want to reiterate how important it is that we exercise caution when providing support. We have a duty of care to the people we work for, and we also want to ensure that all our staff, their family, and friends continue to be as safe as possible. For this reason, we ask that you continue to follow FACTS:
F – Face Coverings
A – Avoid Crowded Places
C – Clean Hands
T – Two Meters
S – Self Isolate
We also want to reiterate that staff should continue to:
• Wear the correct PPE whilst providing support
• Ensure good ventilation indoors by opening windows
• Continue to wear face coverings whilst outside
The rules about social distancing are changing from 2 meters to 1 meter. FACTS states two meters and even though the official guidance is changing, we ask that, where possible, you maintain as much of a distance as possible when outside.
There are no changes to the requirement to wear a face-covering or for the need to self-isolate for those who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 who have tested positive.
There has been much debate about the change in guidance across the whole of the UK. We want to keep people as safe as possible, so we urge our staff members to take a cautious approach to the easing of restrictions. The last thing we want is for even more positive COVID-19 cases, hospital admissions, and sadly deaths. The virus is still out there, and it will spread if we give it an opportunity.
Please stay safe.
