Self-directed support (SDS) is a term that describes the ways in which individuals and families can have informed choice about how their support is provided to them – Scottish Government

It means that people who use services and their families can decide on how they want to be supported, who they want to be supported by, and when.

We work with people, their families and other professionals to design support that is focussed on what’s important to people to have a good meaningful life, and what’s important for people to be as healthy, safe and well as possible.
