Full Time Home Care Worker

  • Across North Lanarkshire
  • £10.50 per hour
  • 42 hours per week on a rotational basis
  • Driver is essential for this role

At SOL, we support people with a range of disabilities to live a fulfilling life within their own homes, family homes and in their local community.

We believe life is worth living when the things that matter most are present. Love, Family, Friendship, Work, Freedom to direct the course of our lives, the opportunity to learn and contribute. We believe that is what ordinary living is all about.

About the role

We deliver support at key times to a number of people across North Lanarkshire throughout the day. We support people to get up and ready for the day ahead, take their medication, meal preparation and light housework. Many of the people we support have a physical disability and rely on our service for their basic needs. It takes a lot of on the spot coordination but people really appreciate that we can be flexible around their support needs. We are seeing more and more people coming to us to ask for this kind of support and we are looking to extend our demanding but rewarding team.

"I took up the position of Coordinator last year and absolutely love the role. I love seeing the difference we can make to someone life – even though we are only with them for a short time each day. The role is really varied, and I love having the opportunity to use my skills to support people the way they want to be supported. It is a busy day, we have to think on our feet and use our own initiative to solve problems. I had never worked in Social Care before I came to SOL, but the training and the support from my manager gave me the confidence to see that I have so many skills, qualities and life experience that can used to make a huge difference to people’s lives every day. It’s such a rewarding role"
