We recently made an appeal on social media for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable our staff to continue to deliver one-to-one support, during this public health emergency.

As part of this appeal we have been looking for:

• Gloves
• Aprons
• Face masks
• Hand sanitiser

With a nationwide shortage of PPE, we decided to put out an appeal asking if anyone could help us. We have been blown away by the response. We have had businesses, large and small, making contributions to our appeal. We’ve also had some really kindhearted individuals come forward with donations.

At the time of writing this post we have had contributions from the following people:

Alex Ross at ABR Travel, and Kash Dean, U Save Store, Newmains – Gloves, hand sanitiser, wipes, disinfectant, hand soap (http://www.abr-travel.com/)

Provan Contracts – Hand sanitiser and gloves

Best Group – Gloves (https://www.bestservices.co.uk/)

Doosan – Face masks and gloves (https://www.doosan.com/en)

Kirk O’ Shotts Primary School – Gloves and aprons (https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/nl/kosroom7/)

Inspirited Dry Gin – Hand sanitiser (https://www.inspirited.co.uk/)

McLeans Gin – Hand sanitiser (https://www.mcleansgin.co.uk/)

GB. Agrispares – Gloves and Aprons (website)

Stonehouse Dental Care – Gloves and face masks (website)

Lift, Shift & Store – Gloves and aprons (https://liftshiftandstore.com/)

Noahs Ark Childrens Nursery – Gloves, surgical scrub, and aprons

Spider Cat Tattoo – Aprons (website)

Showcase Cinema (Bailleston) – Aprons (website)

We hope that measures taken by both the UK and Scottish governments will free up PPE for social care organisations and we can start to buy the equipment that we need from our usual stockists.

Until this is fully resolved can we ask that if you do have any PPE that you can donate to the organisation that you contact Catriona Watt by emailing catriona.watt@forliving.org or by calling 01698 276206 during normal office hours. All donated items must be in sealed packaging so we can ensure they are fit for our staff to use

Thank you once again.
