About SOLWAY
Support for Ordinary Living (SOL) is a voluntary organisation which was established in 1997. Since 1998 SOL has developed a wide range of “Supported Living” services to men and women with learning disabilities in Lanarkshire. It was clear that people wanted to have a job and so, to this end SOL (SOLWAY – Work Access for You) began a supported Employment project in 2003 assisting adults with learning disabilities into employment.
Our role is to find appropriate work for adults, who require our support to gain and sustain paid employment.
Our core values by which we want to work, both within our organisation and externally, and by which we would want to be judged are as follows:
Commitment to the full and equal adult status of men and women with learning disability.
The unique individuality of each person.
The social model of disability.
The citizenship model of inclusion.
The aims of SOLWAY:
- To support people to break into the open labour market and promote themselves as viable and productive employees
- To coach and develop the roles of employees and employers
- To transfer our skills to similar organisations
We Offer:
- Recruitment service
- Training & consultancy
- Job coaching
- Flexible, experienced and committed staff
